I have not traveled much and m new to USA, i am leaving from columbus to india?

on the way from LGA to jfk how can i travel in 1hrs time and should i carry only my hand baggage or all the luggages,should i go thru customs every time i change an airport...as my tip is via LGA>JFK>KUWAIT>INDIA , as i change the airport.....Can anyone pls advice....
