Christians and others: What would happen to your religion if Aliens suddenly showed up tomorrow?

You've made your position on the question quite clear and any answer contrary to your preconceived idea of the truth would, most likely, be rejected or ignored. Extraterrestrials do exist, the Bible says so and it is filled with examples of contacts and observations. However, those who attempted to describe their contacts and observations did so with less knowledge of technology than we understand today. They observed the gods, angels, demons, and others in the context of their time. They were no more dumb or ignorant in their time than we are in ours. If we are so smart why have we not overcome our hostile nature, stopped warring and seeking to destroy those who think differently than we do, etc. Obviously, if we were smarter we would learn from our mistakes throughout history and not repeat them. Personally I believe the Catholic Church is more concerned with their own position in world politics than it is in bringing the truth to its followers. It has, repeatedly, attempted to deny the truth and prevent the common man from discovering it. Look how it treated Galileo,Nostradamus, the Mayans, and many many others. Let me pose this question to you, suppose the aliens were here first and we are the interlopers on this planet? What then?
